Milk Income Loss Contract (MILC) Program

MILC start month needs to be considered

 Payment Estimates

Extended Signup Phase):  January 22, 2009 through September 30, 2012

Producers who submit their application during the extended signup may select as their production start month, either

1) The month the contract is submitted (example:  if a producer wants to select February, they can submit their application in February by the 27th, if they want to select March, they can submit their application in March by the 31st)

2) Any month after the contract is submitted in the fiscal year that has not begun or has not passed, and that selection must be made on or before the 14th of the month before the month the dairy operation wants to select as their production start month (example:  if a producer submits their application in February and wants to select March as their start month, they will need to do so by February 14th, or they can simply wait until March and submit their application as noted above).

Federal Order advance Class I prices are released on the nearest Friday before the 23rd of each month.

Producers should contact their local FSA office for further guidance and to submit the required documents.  Many of the local offices are asking that producers make appointments in order to receive the best customer service.
