California Dairy Leaders ProgramWestern United Dairymen has introduced the California Dairy Leaders Program to develop informed producers who will take leadership roles in the next generation of dairy organizations. Seven participants have been selected for California Dairy Leaders Class I.

State Capitol Session. Class members met in
Sacramento in August for a session on the inner workings of state government.
The session featured discussions with a wide variety
of legislative and governmental leaders on issues facing California's dairy

Environmental Issues Session: Environmental issues
are a major challenge for the dairy industry. Class members met in Modesto
for two days to meet with governmental officials and environmental groups to
gain an understanding of their perspective on these complex issues. For more
