The House Ag Committee opened action on its version of the 2012 Farm Bill on July 11. About 100 amendments were to be considered. National Milk Producers Federation’s Jerry Kozak, president and CEO, and Randy Mooney, chair and dairy farmer from Rogersville, Mo., praised the amendment's defeat, urging the committee to approve its version of the Farm Bill, containing the Dairy Security Act provisions, this week. Connie Tipton, president and CEO of the International Dairy Foods Association, said her organization held out hope House Speaker John Boehner could derail the Dairy Market Stabilization Program from being included in a House Farm Bill proposal.(more) July 11, 2012 DairyProfit Update
